IRCTC Online Tatkal Ticket Booking Timings and Charges

Fetching a train ticket at high priority or at times of urgency sometimes could be an act of great pain.
For the benefit people who plan to travel at last moment Railway provides the facility of TATKAL RAILWAY TICKET booking. To avail this facility online you just need to login to your IRCTC account. Tatkal tickets can be booked for all the classes except 1st class AC.

Maximum of four tickets can be booked online at once at a given PNR. TATKAL tickets can only be reserved a day in advance, or a day before the day of journey. The online tatkal booking timings on IRCTC opens at 10.AM and only lasts for one hour as the tickets get sold within one hour.

People trying to book online TATKAL ticket from IRCTC (tatkal timings) should log in five to ten minutes prior 10.AM. There are extra charges that are levied on TATKAL tickets, as IRCTC charges the fare from origin station to the destination station. One must always keep his/her Identity proof while making an IRCTC TATKAL BOOKING Online TRAIN such as voter ID car, Pan Card, Driving Licence or Passport. The same document should be carried while travelling in train with the total ticket.

Here are the tips to book TATKAL TICKETS ONLINE FASTER

1. Once you have registered on IRCTC, you can login to your account using your user ID and Password. To know how to create A NEW IRCTC ACCOUNT click here
2. After logging in, select the boarding station and destination station
3. Select the date of travel, Remember you can book TATKAL ticket only a day in advance (read tatkal booking rules ).
4. After submitting the data, the list of trains appear, just select the TATKAL radio button, and select the class you want to travel in.
5. The availability of irctc tatkal seat availability and status with price/fare of the tickets will appear.
6. To change you selection such as train or class, select that particular link and the details for the same will appear.
7. Once you have selected the Train and class click on submit, on next page fill the details like passengers names, Age, sex etc and proceed with the payments.
8. Once your ticket is confirmed you’ll be notified with a SMS and email by IRCTC.

IRCTC has made it very easy to book emergency tickets in form of TATKAL, all you need is a good speed Internet Connection, Your identity proof, Your IRCTC Account and of course your DEBIT/CREDIT card or net banking credentials.
